Library Assistant Position Brown Memorial Library, Bradford, NH is looking for a focused, forward thinking individual to fill a part-time position as Library Assistant. We will consider candidates that exhibit professionalism, customer service skills, and computer literacy. A genuine interest in books, reading and readers is a plus. This position reports to the Library Director and works with a dedicated staff. Hours are Monday, 3-8; Wednesday, 3-7; alternate Saturdays 10-3; Sunday, 11-3, (13-17 hours per week). Paid hourly, starting at $13 per hour. Responsibilities: Assist the librarian in running the library. Duties may include: Circulation desk (greet library users, check in/check out books, issue new patron cards, keep daily statistics, answer reference questions or refer questions to library director, assist users with computers/printer/copier) Shelve books and keep bookshelves tidy and in order Catalog maintenance (filing, withdrawing) Other special projects Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Attention to detail Basic computer and software skills Willingness to help keep Brown Memorial Library operating at its best Public desk etiquette, customer service and conflict resolution skills Must be able to use a step stool to reach upper shelves Terms of Employment: Position hours are:__________________________________ Employment shall be for a six-month period; after six months, the Librarian may decide at her discretion to make the appointment permanent. Salary is $13 per hour to start Celebrate Read Across America with a Pajama Party at the library on Thursday, March 9 at 6pm complete with Seuss snacks and stories. Wear your PJs and/or a silly hat.
